Structure with Power

phpOpenFW is an open-source MVC PHP web application framework. It is designed to be highly structured to facilitate development of powerful, flexible, standardized web applications. It uses current web standards such as XSLT, XML, XHTML, and CSS. Included in each version of phpOpenFW is the application framework, sample application, and both developer and full documentation. Although documentation exists with phpOpenFW, it is currently brief and incomplete in some areas. Please be patient as I work to complete the documentation. Additionally, documentation bundled with phpOpenFW outlines the setup of the application structure. phpOpenFW requires PHP5, libxslt, libxml, and php-xml.

Why another PHP Framework?

phpOpenFW has most of the same features of existing MVC frameworks so why create yet another PHP Framework? The short answer is that I began developing phpOpenFW a few years ago before most of the currently available frameworks were available or stable to use. After a few years of development and several web applications later I have decided to share phpOpenFW with the open-source community and will be releasing it under the GPL version 2 license. The features of phpOpenFW make it a robust web application framework for developing powerful, flexible, standardized web applications.
